Harrisburg Tiger Faithful:

Having fielded a few questions regarding attendance restrictions at athletic events this Fall, I wanted to recirculate this information to reach as many people as possible.

Due to concerns related to the spread of Covid-19 and its impact on activities, the Harrisburg School District’s Board of Education approved a plan to return to competition while taking measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. The intent of these measures is twofold. First, like in the classroom, the District is taking these measures to keep our students healthy. Second, the District wants to ensure that these activities can continue through the end of their respective seasons. This plan can be viewed here.

Spectator attendance at home athletic events will be limited to a maximum of 6 spectators per participant. This number may be reduced to 4 or 2 per participant depending on the status of the school buildings in the District and the number of active cases of COVID-19. Each participant will be allocated the appropriate amount of event-specific passes. These passes are intended to be used by the family of the participants. The pass will allow the holder to purchase a ticket at the gate. If you don’t hold one of these passes, you may not enter the facility where the event is held.

While this plan does preclude many Tiger Fans from attending these events in the short term, we hope that it will help us see these seasons through to the end. This is obviously the better outcome of the cancellations that took place last Spring. Please check out our YouTube page to watch Tiger Athletics online!

Sincerely,
