Happy Friday, North families!
Today we kicked off our 2021 Color Run fundraiser by celebrating the success of two North students that represented Sioux Falls and Harrisburg North Middle School in the Little League World Series (picture attached.) Congratulations to Gavin W. and Boston B. on their success, and welcome back to school!
Over the next two weeks, our school will be fundraising for two primary items: First, a collection of outdoor equipment such as soccer balls, footballs, nets, spike ball sets, bean bags, and tether balls. Second, a greenhouse that will be used collectively by science, FACs, Tech Ed, and by the teams to promote and celebrate South Dakota’s agricultural heritage.
The theme for this year’s Color Run, which will take place on September 17th, Homecoming Friday, is Wide World of Sports. The event will feature music, color, and fun! Running will not be required. To kick off the event, we shared a video with our learners and set our first goal: to have 50% of our students at North registered for the event by the end of the day today. You should have already received, or will be receiving today, an email from your learner’s advisory teacher with details on how to get registered for the event. I encourage everyone to register tonight!
If you own a business or know someone that does, you can donate either to a specific learner or to the school as a whole and become one of our featured businesses!
Our overall goal for the fundraiser is $25,000. If we reach that goal, we will bring in a dunk tank and each grade level will have a chance to dunk the principals and possibly one of their teachers.
If our school is able to raise a total of $50,000, Mrs. Olinger and I have agreed to jump out of a plane…that is moving…in the air…hopefully with parachutes. Our learners will be able to enjoy our terror by watching a video-taped documentation of the event which we will also share out via social media.
Be sure to register your learner tonight and have an enjoyable Labor Day weekend!
