“Lift up your eyes and see the good in the world, for we are people with an amazing capacity to do great good. And if only the minority choose to exercise this capacity to the smallest degree, oh how wondrous and sweet the deeds performed at but a few hands!”

The Harrisburg School District is now delivering Grab & Go breakfast and lunch meals to the Misty Glen neighborhood. The pick-up time will be from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM in front of the Community room. Just look for the big yellow school bus!
These meals are available to any child between the ages of 0-18 and the child does not need to be present to pick up meal. Meals that are taken are to be consumed by the children in the household. Do not ask for meals that are intended to be eaten by adults.

While many South Dakotans stay home during coronavirus, there will be tens of thousands of people who will head to work to keep essential services functioning smoothly for everyone. This week, we recognize the following services. 🧹🔧📦🐕♻️
Whether you are staying home to keep you and your family healthy, or working to provide services essential to keep our community operating, THANK YOU!

As parents, there are times our children drive us crazy! In this time of rapid change and, for most of us, some kind of confinement at home, this can be especially true. Getting through the day can become tense, and we can be unsure about how to discipline our children.
Join this free web-based meeting with Randy Sprick. Randy is a parent (and yes, sometimes his children drive him crazy), a grandparent, and a world leader in effective behavior management. His presentation will cover things you can do to help your children learn to behave better and become more independent and responsible.

On Wednesday, April 1st (tomorrow), the Harrisburg School District will be distributing a box of nonperishable dry goods, from Feeding South Dakota, to any family that wishes to pick one up. The boxes will be handed out from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or until they run out, at the school locations that are also handing out grab-n-go meals. These boxes will be picked up from the back of the buildings at the entrances to the kitchens. Boxes cannot be picked where the grab-n-go meals are handed out. We will have signs on the doors indicated which door to go. Only one box is allowed per family.
• North Middle School - the door is in front of the long-sloped dock.
• Liberty - the rear of the building is located along Willow Street, with the entrance in the recessed part of the building.
• Freedom - look for the door near the red dumpsters
• Explorer - look for the door near the red dumpsters
• Journey - look for the door near the red dumpsters
• Horizon - the rear of the building is located off E. Brewster Street, look for the door near the red dumpsters.

⚠️ For the health and safety of our community, effective immediately, all Harrisburg School District playgrounds and outdoor facilities are closed to the public. Thank you for your cooperation.

Although we may be far apart, know our affection for our Tigers is from the heart! ♥️🐾

The Child Nutrition Department is excited to announce that starting TOMORROW we will be offering curbside pick-up of the grab-n-go meals. You can just pull up to the curb by the building entrance, let the staff know how many meals you need, and we will bring them out to you.
Also starting tomorrow there will be some rule and regulation changes that will make the program more accessible to families.
• Any child between the ages of 0 to 18 is now eligible to pick up meals.
• The child does not need to attend the Harrisburg School District to be eligible to pick up meals.
• The child does not need to be present to pick up a meal.
This meal program is for the benefit of the children in and around the Harrisburg School District. Meals that are taken are to be consumed by the children in the household. Do not ask for meals that are intended to be eaten by adults.

😎 It's a beautiful day! Enjoy the sun, and take care of yourself.
