Pierce Okken was nominated to the Air Force Academy by Sen. Rounds
WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) today announced that Harrisburg High School senior Pierce Okken has received a fully qualified offer of appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Okken is the son of Noelle and Craig Okken of Harrisburg, SD. He was nominated to the Air Force Academy by Rounds.
“Congratulations to Pierce on receiving an offer of appointment to the Air Force Academy,” said Rounds. “His love of country and strong faith in God will help him to be a good leader in the Air Force. Pierce’s goal is to pursue a degree in civil and aerospace engineering at the Academy. We wish him all the best!”

Each year, Sen. Rounds is able to nominate a select group of eligible students from South Dakota to attend our nation’s four service academies: The U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy.
