Harrisburg Elementary & Middle School Parents and Guardians:
Join us for Harrisburg Family EdCamp on Saturday, October 27 from 8a-12p at South Middle School. This FREE event is designed to support parents and strengthen families through sessions offered by the Harrisburg District Staff and community partners. Sessions will center on supporting learners at home in reading and math, providing safeguards for families in an increasingly digital world, managing life's demands with a busy family, working through difficult behaviors at home, and many others! A complete session guide will be made available next week.
Breakfast and childcare are available to participants at no cost AND we will have lots of fabulous door prizes thanks to the generous donations of area businesses and organizations that value strong families.

For the next week, HNMS FCCLA will be having a clothing drive to support Hawthorne Elementary School in Sioux Falls who are in immediate need of new shoes and new sweatpants for their students Kindergarten through 5th grade. The drive runs through Thursday, October 4 with final donations taken during Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Advisories will be competing for points towards two prizes:
POINTS
New Sweatpants/leggings - 1 point
New Shoes - 4 points
Money donation in $6 increments - 1 point per $6.
PRIZES - advisory with the most points
Week 1 - Cookie Siesta (Announced Monday, October 1)
Week 2 and Overall Winner - Ice Cream Social and delivery of the donations
The real winners are Hawthorne students!!

Infinite Campus is a wonderful way to keep track of your student’s progress at school both behaviorally and academically. The document on the website http://harrisburgdistrict41-2.org/o/north-middle-school/browse/34882 outlines how to navigate through Infinite Campus and how to check items such as grades and behavior incidents. The handout also explains activity eligibility, academic accountability policy, and standards-based grading.
Our ICU program is up and running! ICU is a program we use to help communicate with parents about assignments that are missing or that need to be redone. Parents are able to log in to our database at https://www.icudatabase.net/harrisburgnorthms/ (which can also be found on our website). By using your student’s login and password, you will be able to see a list of any and all assignments on the ICU database.
