FCCLA Member of the Year Award, presented by the U.S. Army!
This prestigious honor recognizes one extraordinary student-chosen from more than 250,000 members-who exemplifies the heart of FCCLA through leadership, service, and personal courage.
These finalists are changemakers, role models, and visionaries who go above and beyond to uplift their chapters, schools, and communities.
Each finalist will receive a $1,000 award courtesy of the U.S. Army and will be celebrated on stage at the 2026 National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. There, the National FCCLA Member of the Year will be announced live and awarded an additional $2,000!

At tonight's board meeting, John Delle, 7th Grade ELA teacher and Oral Interpretation coach at EMS, shared the success of the 3rd Annual Middle School Talking Tiger Oral Interp Competition, where 33 students demonstrated growth in confidence, reading fluency, and public speaking through performance. To highlight this work, a couple of students were introduced to provide a brief demonstration.
And Dr. Amolins shared that Tracy Kern was recently inducted into the Region V ACTE Hall of Fame, a prestigious honor recognizing significant impact in Career and Technical Education across a 17-state region. A 27-year educator in Harrisburg, she has inspired students through Family and Consumer Science courses and leadership in FCCLA and Educators Rising. He also highlighted Dr. Sara VandeKamp being named ACTE Region V Postsecondary Professional of the Year, recognizing her leadership and innovation in advancing Career and Technical Education at Southeast Technical College and across South Dakota.
Payton Revell and Ava Ellyson also represented HHS well at the State level for Art Wars on Saturday in the categories of photography and painting. Congrats to Payton Revell for placing 1st in Photography!
