Harrisburg Educators Rising Members Represent South Dakota in Portland
Harrisburg High School is proud to announce that nine members of its Educators Rising chapter attended the 2026 National Educators Rising Conference, held in Portland, Oregon from June 20–23, 2026. This national event brings together thousands of aspiring educators for competitions, workshops, and professional learning experiences designed to prepare the next generation of teachers.
This year’s Harrisburg delegation included two students who served as state officers, representing South Dakota with excellence. The remaining members competed in their respective national competitions, demonstrating preparation, leadership, and passion for the teaching profession.
The conference featured an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers, including Ashlie Crosson, the 2025 National Teacher of the Year, and Bryan Butcher, Jr., the 2025 Oregon State Teacher of the Year. Their messages on resilience, innovation, and the future of education provided powerful motivation for students preparing to enter the field.
Throughout the four day event, students participated in hands on workshops, breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and competitive experiences that strengthened their instructional skills and deepened their commitment to becoming future educators. Harrisburg High School celebrates the professionalism, enthusiasm, and excellence these nine students brought to the national stage.

Set-up (July 31)
Fair Shifts (August 1–8)
Clean-up/Tear Down (August 9)
Duties include animal care, feeding, watering, cleaning pens, assisting visitors, and helping with set-up and tear down.
